EFC – Relentless Review

Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) returned to with Relentless at the Xanadu Theater at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The 13-bout card had 10 finishes and featured many of the top regional fighters in the area as EFC is famous for being a battle zone for fighters looking to make a name for themselves.

In the main event, undefeated Fabian “The Baby Face Killer” Rosario (7-0) from Bloomfield, New Jersey defended his EFC Welterweight Championship against tough challenger Danny “Massacre” Massa (2-3) from New Rochelle, New York winning via decision after three grueling rounds. Rosario is a submission specialist with 5 of his victories coming via tapout but was unable to submit the gritty Massa who gave the champion everything he could handle in this back and forth brawl. But in the first round it looked like Rosario might get the submission as he had Massa’s back for a good while and tried to sink in the choke after both men exhibited some top-notch grappling. Rosario scored with takedowns, but Massa rocked Rosario in the standup. It was a great opening round to a fast paced fight. In round two, Rosario tried to keep the fight down as much as possible and did a great job as Massa was constantly trying to get off of his back, but to no avail as Rosario controlled the round with some solid grappling from the top position. In round three, it was more of the same as Rosario scored takedowns and worked his ground game trying to improve position and secure a submission. Rosario didn’t grab a submission, but he did overwhelm Massa with his grappling for three rounds. It was a solid win for Rosario against a very game challenger in Massa.

In other action, Christopher Vallaro (5-2) defeated Alejandro Dominguez (0-3) via guillotine choke in round two after he pulled guard getting the fight to the ground where he secured the choke. Vallaro went for the choke multiple times throughout the fight, but in the early going Dominguez fought out of every submission attempt. But Vallaro was constantly pushing the action and would not stop attacking the neck of Dominguez. Finally, skill and experience won out and Vallaro found his opening and sunk in the choke deep on Dominguez’ neck getting the tapout quickly thereafter.

EFC always gives the fans KOs and submissions as the fighters are continually looking for the finish. Be sure to catch all of the action from this exciting event as EFC presents Relentless exclusively at
